Yale University invites production companies to explore its diverse array of interior and exterior filming locations.  This site presents some of the University's filming locations as well as other important information such as policies, guidelines and information about filming in New Haven and the State of Connecticut.

Yale's Campus Includes a Wide Range of
Architecture and Landscapes Old and New

Styles range from New England Colonial to High Victorian Gothic, from Georgian to contemporary.

Yale's buildings, towers, lawns, courtyards, walkways, gates, and arches, on a central campus that covers 342 acres, comprise what one architecture critic has called "the most beautiful urban campus in America." More than 275 buildings include contributions from distinguished architects of every period in Yale's history. The University also maintains over 120 acres of athletic fields and 515 acres of golf course and natural preserves.  There are another 20 buildings and 136 acres at the newly acquired West Campus located in West Haven and Orange.

Television and Commercial Photography

Yale will consider requests to shoot for television, or commercial photography, provided that all requirements of the Film and Photography Guidelines are met and the filming does not interfere with the educational mission of the University.  Production companies must work directly with the Marketing and Trademark Licensing Office and their work is subject to fees.
